YWCA Wall For Women

Muralist: Ola Volo
Art Director: Abrie Miller, Sheldon Rennie
Writers: Jordon Lawson, Emily Betteridge, Thom Peters
Creative Director: Leia Rogers

Domestic violence is a growing problem that hides in plain sight. So to break down the walls of hidden violence, we painted an unignorable wall of hope beside one of Vancouver's busiest transit hubs.

The Wall for Women, painted by world-renowned muralist Ola Volo is public art with a hidden message.

Within the artwork, we hid five domestic violence statistics that are activated when someone takes a photo of the mural. The URLs take the photo-taker to a custom designed landing page with more information about domestic violence and the option to donate to the YWCA.
